Cave found on Moon - Will host human Colony in future

A Italian team of scientists have found a cave on moon. The site is near to the area where humans first landed.

This cave could potentially be a future colony site for humans as looks to be safe and could shield humans from radiation and other factors.

The cave is said to be 100m deep & 170m wide as per the findings. However, could be even bigger than the estimate.

This is a first of its kind finding on the moon which was speculated by many scientists in the past.

The team used radar data from a lunar mission launched on 2010 called Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter craft.

The location of the cave is said to be very near to the first moon landing by Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin.

The estimated distance between the two locations is about 400 kms & are very ideal for human colony.

The cave could have been caused by a collapsed lave tube creating depression on the surface, a similar phenomenon to earth caves.
